Get to Know the Faces Behind VIRIDIS Fund Solutions – Meet Scott Carpenter

Scott Carpenter

At VIRIDIS Fund Solutions, our people are the driving force behind everything we do. Each member of our team brings unique experiences, energy, and perspective that we blend together to build something special.

In this employee spotlight, we’re excited to introduce you to one of the many team members making an impact behind the scenes: our Controller, Scott Carpenter.

How did your first job out of college lead you to VIRIDIS, and what is your role here?

Before joining VIRIDIS, I worked in public accounting at Ellin & Tucker, where I gained valuable experience with clients across a wide range of industries. I didn’t have a desire to build a long-term career in public accounting, but the foundation I built there—both the technical knowledge and the work ethic—prepared me for every opportunity that has come since.

That path led me here to VIRIDIS, where I currently manage our financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and financial planning. What I enjoy most about my current role is that it’s not just about the numbers. I get the opportunity to contribute to other areas of the business, growing alongside a team that shares that same mindset.

What do you enjoy most about working at VIRIDIS?

Hands down, the best part of working at VIRIDIS is the people. This is a group with deep industry experience and a serious drive to do things better, smarter, and more efficiently. That comes with its own set of challenges, of course, but those challenges are what make the work so rewarding.

We push ourselves every day to raise the bar, and the best part is that we get to do it with people we genuinely enjoy being around. That’s a rare thing, and it’s what makes me excited to show up every morning.

Describe the company culture.

There’s something special about the culture at VIRIDIS. It’s this unique combination of open communication, intentional collaboration, and real relationships that grow from shared experiences. We’re a hardworking, driven group—and yes, that can be a grind—but we also have a great time together.

You can walk through the office on any given Tuesday and hear laughs and conversations that remind you how strong our team dynamic really is. We also make it a point to get outside the office to catch an Orioles game, play some subtly competitive pickleball, or just go out for a happy hour drink. That balance is something I truly value.

If you could speak to your younger self, what career advice would you give him?

How you do anything is how you do everything. Take your time and do things to the best of your ability. You’ll fail along the way, but failure is necessary for growth, even if it stings at the moment.

I’ve learned that success doesn’t come from background, education, or connections. It comes from showing up, working hard, and helping the people around you. Do that consistently, and everything else tends to fall into place.

What is the one weekend activity you enjoy most?

If I had to pick one weekend activity I love most, it would be enjoying great food with even better company. Whether it’s a home cooked meal or dining out at a new restaurant, there’s something about sharing a meal with family or friends that’s hard to beat.

We can go further, together.
