At VIRIDIS Fund Solutions, our people are the driving force behind everything we do. Each team member brings a unique perspective and skillset that helps us deliver exceptional service to our clients.
In this employee spotlight, we’re excited to introduce Sarah Malomo, a member of our investor operations team who plays a key role in supporting clients and solving complex challenges behind the scenes.
What originally drew you to a career in financial services?
My interest in financial services really started with economics. I studied it in college and was fascinated by how different parts of the economy connect and influence each other. That curiosity stuck with me and made me want to better understand how financial systems work in practice, which ultimately led me to pursue a career in the financial services industry.
Can you walk us through what a typical day looks like in your role?
No two days are the same, which is something I really enjoy. At the core of my role is helping clients resolve questions or challenges, whether that’s assisting with portal access, handling breakout requests, or responding to more in-depth inquiries.
A lot of my day is spent communicating with clients and digging into data in Excel, reviewing information carefully to make sure every response we provide is accurate, clear, and helpful. It’s a balance of client service and attention to detail that keeps things interesting.
What part of investor operations do you find most rewarding?
For me, the most rewarding part of the role is helping clients find solutions.
A lot of what I do feels like solving puzzles. Every request comes with its own set of pieces where I need to identify the issue, gather the right information, and connect everything in a way that makes sense. Whether it’s a quick fix or something more complex, there’s something really satisfying about working through a question to ultimately deliver an answer that helps the client move forward.
What do you enjoy most about working at VIRIDIS?
The people, without a doubt.
We have a team made up of individuals with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, and that makes it a really dynamic environment. I’ve learned a lot from collaborating with others and seeing how they approach challenges.
What’s a piece of career advice that has stuck with you?
Always be willing to learn.
It’s easy to assume that because you’ve done something many times, you already know the best way to do it, but that’s not always the case. Staying open to new approaches and learning from others has helped me grow both professionally and personally.
What is your favorite way to unwind after a busy week?
I like to keep things simple. Watching movies, spending time with family and friends, and getting out and exploring new places are some ways I like to spend my free time. It’s the perfect way to recharge and reset for the week ahead.
