Position Overview

We are currently offering an Accountant position (operations focused) on our Venture Capital Finance team. This position will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager to ensure accounting-related investor communications are calculated and delivered to our clients’ investors (LPs) accurately and efficiently. This is a unique role with the opportunity to learn the back-office & LP-facing side of various venture capital clients, prior to financial accounting.

Essential Job Functions:

• Fund Capital Calls
  • Prepare capital call calculations, supporting files and LP/GP email notifications 
  • Prepare LP capital call notices and perform export from Client Relationship Management system
  • Prepare calculations of late admit interest, management fee reduction allocations 
• Fund Distributions
  • Prepare distribution proposals, including carry distribution calculations, for Senior Accounting Manager/Partner review
  • Prepare distribution allocation calculations, supporting files and LP/GP email notifications 
  • Prepare distribution notice investment write-ups and perform export of notices from Client Relationship Management system
  • Track proceeds of various returns on investments and coordinate with Fund Accounting Team/outside brokers on timing
  • Coordinate with Tax Team to determine any required tax distributions or withholdings 
• Fund Quarterly/Annual Reporting
  • Prepare extensive special LP reports for release alongside standard reporting 
• New Fund Onboarding
  • Assist with the onboarding of new funds to required files as needed
• SOC 1 Report & SOX 404 Testing
  • Work with audit team(s) to provide them with all requested support and ensure deadlines are appropriately met. 
• Other Duties as assigned
• Upward Management 
  • Determine timelines of delivery for review 
  • Ensure Senior Accounting Manager is in the loop with any and all complexities or issues 
  • Solicit feedback on process 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience, preferably in Big Four public accounting 
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Elevated level of demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and financial modeling

• Strong basis of financial accounting required
